Region 19 games provide opportunity for PHS to rise in the standings

With a two-game homestand this weekend, the Pinnacle High Lady Panthers have an opportunity to make some noise in Region 19.

The Lady Panthers are looking to gather momentum with the Region 19 schedule nearing its completion in mid-February.

"This will be a big weekend for us as a team," said PHS head coach Rob Harmon.

The Lady Panthers will take on Navajo Mountain on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. and will host Monument Valley the following day for a game starting at 4 p.m.

Both games will provide ample opportunity for the Lady Panthers to pick up two key wins in region play.

Harmon said the Lady Panthers have come a long way since the start of the season. But there are still areas of improvement.

"Missed free throws have killed us and probably cost us some wins," he said.

With just one month left in the season, Harmon said it is crucial for the Lady Panthers to pick up two wins this weekend if they want an opportunity to go to the state tournament.

"We could really help ourselves out by getting two wins this weekend," he said.
