Season nearing end for Carbon High basketball teams
CHS girls fighting for playoff positioning; CHS boys young squad looking to finish season on high note
While the teams may be on two different paths, plenty of things can be accomplished over the final three games in Region 12 play for the basketball teams at Carbon High School.
For the Carbon High girls, a logjam of teams with 2-3 records in region play including Carbon, Payson and Juab provides a shot to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.
The Lady Dinos can finish anywhere from first to last place in the region. With a game at home on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m., Carbon has an opportunity to take down Region 12 leader Richfield. With their final two games against Juab and Payson, the Lady Dinos can boost their chances of hosting a playoff game if they finish in first or second place.
For the Carbon High boys, the final three games will provide a young team with a chance to play the role of spoiler and finish the season on a high note.
The Dinos will travel to Richfield on Wednesday, Feb. 5 before returning home to host Juab on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
After a series of close games that haven't gone their way, the Dinos will be looking to make a little noise in Region 12 as the season comes to a close.
