Nominating Commission selects 2 justice court nominees

The Carbon County Nominating Commission has selected two nominees for pending vacancies at the Carbon County and Wellington City justice courts. The positions will replace Judge Elayne Storrs who has announced her retirement effective May 1, 2014.

Following are the nominees followed by place of employment and residence:

David Merrill Allred, J.D., attorney at law, Castle Dale

Jon Randall Carpenter, J.D., attorney at law, Jensen & Carpenter Law Office, Price

A comment period will be held through March 31 before a final candidate is selected by the Carbon County Commission and Wellington City Mayor, who have 30 days to make an appointment, which is subject to ratification by the Carbon County Commission and Wellington City Council.
