Truck careens into Bicyclewerks
A Carbon County motorist reportedly lost control of his late model pickup on Tuesday while traveling westbound on 100 North in Price. After crossing through the east lane, the small truck, mounted the curb and crashed into the north facing wall of Bicyclewerks.
Price City Police, Fire and EMT officials responded to the scene where the driver was evaluated by medical personnel before being placed in a police cruiser.
City police reported that a full account of the incident was not available at press time but would be forthcoming from Sgt. Bill Barnes.
The vehicle made strong enough impact with a pile of large rocks near the brick wall to wedge one of them into the structure.
Fire Chief Paul Bedont commented that the rock was taking on the weight of the bricks which had been displaced by the crash. Despite the fact that the wall was opened completely up by the impact, the rock was able to bear the wall's weight, keeping it's integrity in tact.
The truck's driver was the only person involved in the crash. His condition and a report concerning any possible charges will be make available by the Price Police.
