History grad student writing thesis on Utah coal industry, seeks local interviews
Christian Wright, a graduate student of history at Northern Arizona University, is writing his master's thesis on Utah's coal industry from 1970-1995.
He is studying the energy boom, coal power plant construction, women miners, the UMWA and the rise of non-union mining.
He will be doing research in Carbon and Emery conties through the end of August and is interested in interviewing people who had worked in the mines and associated industries during the years his topic covers.
