With a desire to help out the community and chip in wherever possible, the Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County hosted an event that can help save the lives of many people.

The Club held a blood drive on Wednesday morning that went into the afternoon at their building on 130 North and 200 East in Price.

Shortly after the blood drive started at 10 a.m., all of the available chairs downstairs where everything was set up were filled with volunteers offering to donate blood for a good cause.

The Boys and Girls Club held the event as part of the 100 days of summer, 100 days of hope event.

All of the staff and crew from the Red Cross came from Salt Lake City to help out with the blood drive.

The hope for the day was to collect at least 35 units of blood during the event.
