Tough competition gives CHS Volleyball team a key early season test to start new year

The Carbon High Volleyball team didn't have to wait too long to get back into the swing of things with a tough group of teams at the Provo Varsity Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Carbon High Head Coach Danielle Jensen said the Lady Dinos played five games total, going 2-3 overall. The team took a fourth place finish at the tournament which included teams such as Mountain View, Provo High, Orem High and others.

"I thought our girls played pretty well," said Jensen. "We learned a lot and even in the losses the girls were right there to the end."

Jensen said the Lady Dinos had a few opportunities to win more games at the tournament but fell short.

The team will need to develop more consistency in multiple areas over the season if they want to be more successful, according to Jensen.

"We've got some players that will need to step up for us after losing some seniors from last year's team," Jensen said.
