The golf tournament held during International Days weekend helped raise more than $4,700 for local charities and entities.

At the Price City Council meeting held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, Price City Community Director Nick Tatton announced that the proceeds from the event would go towards many groups in the community. After receiving approval from the city council, Tatton announced that the money would be distributed in the following way:

Price City International Days Fireworks display ($1,200);

Price City Local Educational Scholarship Program ($500);

Carbon County Food Bank ($500);

Carbon County Children's Justice Center ($500);

Cancer Treatment travel assistance ($500);

Miners Memorial Project ($500);

Price Kiwanis Club Kid's Day ($500);

Carbon High School Boy's and Girl's Golf teams ($500).

Tatton said previously that the tournament was helped by the many in the local community who played and volunteered as well as the influx of people from outside the area who also participated in the event.
