SUNNYSIDE - Genelle Renee Phillips Howell, age 56, passed away Jan. 23, 2013 at her home.
She was born Aug. 15, 1956 in Oak Creek, Colo., to Boyd J. Phillips and Myrtle E. Whaley.
Genelle was raised in Palisade, Colo., and graduated from Palisade High School. She attended college classes at Mesa College, the College of Eastern Utah, and Kaplan College.
On June 27, 1977, she married Jerry O'Neal Howell in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
"Truly an angel of love sent from above".... Genelle was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandma, and special friend who had a profound impact on the lives of many and the community in general. Her beautiful spirit and generous heart will always be remembered and will live on through the lives she touched. From her work at the law office to the canal company to managing the office of Dr. Glenn T. Etzel, Genelle was very involved and truly made a difference in all that she did. Furthermore, she took great pride in the accomplishments she achieved in the Sunnyside community.
Genelle is survived by her husband, Jerry, Sunnyside; sons, T. Shawn (Briana) Howell, Chase B. Howell, both of Vernal; daughter-in-law, Jamie Howell and grandsons, Zachary K. and Memphis K. Howell, Price; parents, Boyd (Myrtle) Phillips, Grand Junction, Colo; brother, Ronald (Delores) Phillips, Grand Junction, Colo; sister, Twila (Mark) Berry, Pueblo, Colo; sister-in-law, Mary Howell, East Carbon; nephews and nieces, Anthony (Vada) Sagrillo, Brandon (Victoria) Sagrillo, Kanda (Joseph) Miziacek, Terra (Rich) Staats, Ronda (Bobbie) Wilmot, Cody Berry, Katelyn Berry, Richard (Chris) Howell, Jeff (Sammi) Howell, Carolyn Howell, and very special great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and all of her special friends, you know who you are, especially Dr. Glenn T. Etzel and Candy Jaramillo; special "adopted sister", Linda Harmond Etzel; and "adopted daughter", Jorja Jensen.
Preceded in death by her sister, Ginger Rose Phillips Sagrillo Etcheverry.

Memorial Mass, Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, 11 a.m., Good Shepherd Catholic Church, East Carbon. Family will receive friends one half hour prior to the Mass. Committal, Valley View Cemetery, Sunnyside.
