Price River is becoming a stream of consciousness for Helper City
The Price River, which divides Helper into east and west halves, is now serving as a unifying theme in the city's plans for economic and community development.
On Tuesday, about 20 representatives from various municipal, county, state and federal agencies got a glimpse of the concept plan intended to transform the river into a city centerpiece.
Jason Carey and Crystal Young of River Restoration outlined the highlights during a short tour of the river. Carey is Principal River Engineer of the firm, Young is a hydrologist. They've been working with the city for two years and are now close to beginning a small demonstration project.
In so many words, the message from the engineers for the river is, "Slow down, you move too fast."
